WHY LORD KRISHNA WAS ABSENT DURING DYUTKRIDA

Lord Krishna  Defeats Salwa king

After understanding the depressing state of affairs of Pandavas from Satyaki, Lord Krishna anxiously came to see Pandavas in the forest. They all wished to know the reason why the Lord did not arrive at Hastinapur where Pandavas lost everything to the Kauravas because of gambling and Draupadi had faced such humiliation. Lord Krishna referred to his battle with the Salwa king to them which I will explain in detail here in this post.

Lord Krishna had killed Shishupala after that Salwa king of Saubha Nagara got furious and killed many Yadavas, destroyed the places, and sought to fight with Lord Krishna there in Dwarika. He used to be roaming in the sky on his vimana named Saubha and looking for Krishna there to avenge the demise of his cousin brother Shishupala. Lord Krishna at that time was on his way to Dwarika from Hastinapur.

Salwa reached close to Dwarika along with his giant army and tried to enter it. No one from the kingdom could face him in the fight. Samba; the son of Jambavati and Krishna additionally shoot many arrows at him however these didn't affect Salwa. Then Samba shoot arrows at Salwa's commander and he ran away from there. Samba killed demons named Begabana and Bubindhya and fought with his Army bravely. Salwa again came close to Dwarika on his flying vimana and tried to enter but Pradyumna; son of Rukmini and Krishna went to fight with Salwa. Fearlessly he shot arrows at Salwa and made him unconscious. Salwa again obtained back his sense and shoot arrows at Pradyumna. Pradyumna lost consciousness and seeing him severely injured, and lethargic his charioteer took him away from that place. Later Pradyumna was awake and regretted the deed of his charioteer and went back to the war. He again attacked with effective arrows at Salwa. The arrow used to be so deadly and forceful, It could have killed him. But the wind god without delay told Pradyumna to take it back as Salwa was destined to be killed by Lord Krishna only. Pradyumna followed his wordings. Salwa escaped from there on his flying Vimana. Lord Krishna reached Dwarika and noticed the kingdom had lost its charm. He heard the whole thing from Kritavarma regarding the destruction of the place and death of Yadavas and the fight of Salwa. He decided to kill him and left for his kingdom.

Lord Krishna fought with Salwa by shooting arrows at him. Salwa along with others attacked him there however Lord Krishna with great courage defended his charioteer Daruka, horses, and his armies. Salwa Took the help of Maya. One time it was viewed as raining, then it seemed like a fine day, and then a darkish night. Also, it was either too hot or too cold there. Lord Krishna additionally attacked him with the aid of Maya. He cleared out all the Maya and again fought with him. Salwa went to the sky again and threw lethal weapons from his vimana. Krishna stopped it all and broke them into pieces.

Daruka advised Krishna that he was exhausted and could not take the combat anymore. All of a sudden a messenger of Dwarika reached there and informed Krishna that Ugrasena had called him back to Dwarika as Salwa had just now killed Vasudeva.

Lord Krishna was in grief he was even unsure of his brother Balarama, his sons, and other kings of Dwarika being alive at that time. That time he saw his father Vasudeva falling from the Vimana of Salwa. That time Lord Krishna became unconscious and was once stunned. After getting back to his senses, he neither did see his enemy Salwa there in his Vimana nor his old father Vasudeva falling from there. Then he could understand that Salwa had tricked him with Maya. Then Krishna attacked by means of shooting arrows at them. He killed many demons there. Salwa often disappeared, attacked from his vimana, and also tricked Krishna's army. Krishna even faced rain of stones over himself and his army there. He crushed these stones by way of shooting arrows. Lord Krishna searched for Agni Astra which resembled Sudarshan chakra there. He attacked Salwa through such divine weapon which first destroyed the vimana. Salwa fell on the earth and Krishna then killed him with the weapon. In such a way he had defeated Salwa king.

Lord Krishna also cited Yudhishthira when he came back to Dwarika he heard about the Pandavas losing the whole thing in the gambling and going to the forest. If he had been there in Hastinapur at that time, He would have killed Duryodhana for such an act.
